After installing the USB 2.0 + IEEE 1394 FireWire PCI Combo Card  you'll need to install the software drivers. You will have a MAC and Windows option, select the one that is appropriate for you.	During the install you will be presented with an option to stop installing the driver or to continue, this is becuase Windows will not recognize the certificate of the driver, choose continue to finish installing the drivers.

After the installing of the drivers is complete you will be asked to restart your computer, once the computer is restarted the PCI combo card is ready to use. To make sure your PCI card is present in your system, go to your device manager and look for the IEEE 1394 bus host controller to be present.
