Shown
here to the left is the USB2.0 High Speed Hub connected
to 3 USB devices. The devices were a USB Optical Mouse,
USB2.0 / IEEE 1394
Firewire Enclosure and a USB Serial
Adapter. As you can see the green lights indicate a complete
USB Cable connection between the USB Hub and the other
USB devices. All were powered through the USB Hub with
exception of the USB2.0
/ IEEE 1394 Firewire Enclosure,
because this was connected to a USB Hub, it had to use
an AC adapter for power but other functioned properly through
the USB Hub. The singular USB cable in back of the USB
Hub is coming from the laptop that was used in testing
that powered the USB Hub.
NOTE: The fourth USB cable connection was left out to show
the difference between powered and non powered or empty
port connection. The red LED indicates power from the PC
or laptop via the USB cable. |

USB Devices attached via USB Cable

Another demonstration of the USB Hub allowing other
USB devices to operate through a single USB port. Then,
distributing that power and connection downstream to
the 3 USB ports that are being utilized. All devices
functioned as they should have connecting through the
USB Hub and USB Cable connection. |
USB Hub Testimonial
This is a pretty cool little box! What really surprised
me was how much it could handle. I had a USB2.0 / Firewire
2.5 inch hard drive enclosure, USB Optical Mouse, USB to
Serial Adapter and although you don't see it, I also used
it to upload the images on this site via the USB cable Connection
on the Hub. I actually had all 4 USB devices connected at
one time and all functioned perfectly from copying files
to the enclosed drive to using the optical mouse to point
and click on my applications. The USB Hub functioned as though
it was a USB port on my laptop from recognizing the devices
as the were connected to the functionality. This really
is a great accessory to have to use multiple USB devices
for one PC or laptop, especially if your system is only equipped
with one or two USB port to begin with.
This is a must have for a usb port limited system.
