Works well in my Dell XPS 8950

By: glee  on 2022-10-20

The expansion slot for a second SATA HDD in the Dell XPS 8950 is on the far top left of the case. And it requires a left angle SATA cable with a 90 degree angle. The length of this cable was perfect, it ran easily from the lower right side of the case to the top left and you can fit these in the built in cable control within the case. I bought other SATA cables from other brands and none of them had the right reach.

Dell XPS 8950

By: Dale Garman  on 2022-08-23

This is the perfect configuration for the second HDD for a Dell XPS 8950 desktop. It has the correct 90 degree angle, and is long enough to easily secure it out of the way. The only tricky part is pushing the little blue button that allows removing a plastic housing hiding the motherboard end of sata connection. Don't know why Dell doesn't ship this with the machine but they don't and this is the only cable I found that seems to work

Great for Dell XPS 8950

By: jeffreyh51  on 2022-08-09

I wanted to add a third drive (already have SSD & Hard drive) to my XPS 8950, and was disappointed to see that Dell chose to require a non-standard, left-angle SATA cable. Also weird that they don't have any to ship. BTW...you also need to source your own proprietary drive cage, because they don't have any of those either. WTF?I found a drive cage elsewhere, and this cable on Amazon. The cable is the perfect length, and works fine. It has no locks, but it fits snugly, and it's not going anywhere. All in all, a great purchase, but I wish it was available in black.

Perfect for adding 2nd hard drive to Dell XPS 8950 Desktop

By: cadtl  on 2022-06-13

Installed this in my Dell XPS 8950 desktop and it works perfectly. It's long enough to route the cable neatly inside the chassis. The left angle connector is what you need for the Dell XPS 8950 desktop.

Great LEFT angle SATA cable.

By: Andrew  on 2022-04-18

I purchased this cable for use in a Dell XPS 8950 Desktop. This easily covers the length from the motherboard to the 2nd top left hard drive bay. This is 30" and provides an extra 4-5 inches of length to safely allow cable management. It is working well with no problems. I believe this is a 30 AWG cable, which means it is more flexible than 26. It is also missing the clip, which is true of all LEFT angled cables. If you purchase a cable that has a clip, it will be right angled.Recognize that this is a left angle SATA cable meaning when you look at the 90 degree head-on with the cable facing downwards there is a plastic notch on the right and the extra space on the left.

Worked great -- extra length and connector orientation needed.

By: Toonfan  on 2022-04-16

Used this to install a second hard drive in a Dell XPS 8950. Besides the length, the orientation of the connector to the drive was critical. A different orientation would have hindered attaching the case cover. This cable was perfect.

A good fix for weird Dell habits

By: Jeremy R.  on 2022-04-03

I bought this cable because it was the only left angle SATA cable that was long enough to fit my Dell 8950. Why Dell uses left angle cables and places the SATA plugs at the opposite end of the box from the drive, I have no idea. That said, I've encountered an issue after using this cable - simply put, the SATA drive disappears after the machine goes to sleep. It is likely the fault of the cable BUT I've changed my power settings to see if this fixes the issue. If it does not, the cable is likely defective and I will need a replacement.FYSA - the machine is brand new so I know its not the MOBO, batteries, PS, or any of the other standard responses.I'll update as soon as I have some time on the new power regimen. For the moment, the cable gets 4-stars because it's one of the few available that comports with Dell's weird PC hardware config.

Works well, no clips but just fine

By: John D Hillmer  on 2022-03-10

I used this in my DELL XPS 8950 desktop for connecting the furthest bay to the mother board, for nice cable management inside the case, it worked perfectly. An 18er worked ok if you didn't mind the cable stretching across the inside of the case, but this 30" one nicely followed the other cables around the perimeter of the case. There are no clips, just put these on, and they stay put.

Good quality left angle SATA cables

By: Brett  on 2020-08-07

I needed some left angle SATA cables for a tight squeeze where only left angle would fit (straight and right angle had other components in the way). These work perfect and are nice and long!Only con is that I wish they were locking SATA connectors, but it was hard to find any long, locking and left angle cables.
