7-Port USB 3.2 Gen 1 Hub for normal Charging and Data

USBGear's USBG-BREC307 is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 7-Port Hub that mountable to any flat secure surface. The hub's 5Gbps data transfer rates follow the standard for USB 3.2 Gen 1 SuperSpeed for streaming information or other data. The 7-Port USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub is easily transported with its small form factor design or can be placed in a stationary position by wall or table top mounting.

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 7-Port hub chassis is a heavy duty extruded aluminum with 7 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and mounting flanges on either end where movement isn't an option. The hub follows Battery Charging specifications 1.2 distributing 900mA* to each port for normal charging, it is designed for excellent heat distribution while in operation in various environments transferring data at USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds. The USBG-BREC307 hub is also backward compatible with specifications of USB 2.0 High Speed or, USB 1.1 Low Speed for use with older devices.

Suggested USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub applications may include: Industrial, Medical, Education, Business, Laboratory, and Gaming.

I installed this to the bottom of an adjustable height desk to run USB3.0 from my computer. The 3' cord provided was not quite long enough to work so ordered a 6' cord. I have a couple of devices connected to it under the desk and added a dual-port extension to bring two positions to the top of the desk. So far it is working out. The desktop devices and the extension ports are working well. I needed a device with the mounting tabs to install it on the underside of the desktop.

The good:they have enough power to run things off of, and overall it works when plugged directly into my desktop. The Bad:t is not actually a true 7 port USB hub, but 2 4 port hubs daisy chained internally, which means that in some configurations (laptop dock & KVM, you will run into a situation where half the ports cannot be used due to limits on how many layers of USB hubs you can have

I bought these for a joystick assembly. I used some 20x20 aluminum to mount a pair of high ending joysticks onto a thing I could use to mount and remove them from my desk easily. This lets mounted easily and accepts USB3 and power so minimized my cable mess.It does get warm, but not alarmingingly. Has given me zero issues. Works on Linux with no special drivers.

This device introduces quite a bit of noise at multiple of 8kHz due to USB microframe packet noise. Basically they used a cheap internal power supply that fluctuates under the repeated 8kHz load of handling microframe packets, which will show up in a lot of musical equipment connected to this hub.

This is the best way to deal with all the USB connected devices. Sure there are a couple convenient ports on the front of your machine but they get used up quickly. This one is easy to mount and offers full speed and power, much better than unplugging and plugging USB cables. Make it easy on yourself.

Dimensions for the holes and panel mounting

Bought this specifically to mount it to a plate and attach to some 80/20 framing. It would have been helpful to have the correct dimensions for the mounting holes. I looked up on their website (after I had already measured, thankfully) and the dimensions on the item did not quite match their published specifications (off by about 1 mm). FWIW, the four smaller (#6 or 3mm) mounting holes were 25 mm apart on the short side and 123 mm apart on the long side. The hub worked well with a Raspberry Pi 4, though.
